Comparing the two: the 2D map loads instantly, is rock-solid on every phone, and is the safer bet for SEO and accessibility. This 3D version has more wow and depth, but is heavier to load and best used as an optional "explore" mode. My recommendation: ship the 2D coastline map as the default, offer this 3D as a toggle for desktop visitors who want to play.
