Our most requested serve

Dissolution of marriage papers,
served with discretion.

Serving divorce papers is one of the most sensitive jobs we do — and one of the most common reasons people call us. A dissolution application must be served personally on your former partner, with a sworn affidavit of service filed with the Family Court before the dissolution can proceed.

We handle it calmly and correctly. If your ex-partner has moved or is avoiding service, we locate them first. We confirm identity, serve in person, and return a filed-ready affidavit — no drama at the door, and no mistakes that delay your dissolution.

  • Discreet personal service, anywhere in NZ
  • We locate an evasive or relocated ex-partner first
  • Sworn, filed-ready affidavit returned for the Family Court

Service that stands up in court.

A case can be delayed, adjourned or thrown out over one thing: how the documents were served. Personal service done correctly — and proven by a sworn affidavit — is what keeps proceedings moving.

As licensed private investigators, we bring more than a courier ever could. When a recipient is hard to find or actively avoiding service, we locate them first, then serve them properly. Every serve comes back with a filed-ready affidavit.

Hard to find?

We locate before we serve.

A recipient who can't be found can't be served — and that stalls everything. Because we're licensed private investigators, we don't hand a "could not locate" note back to you. We trace the recipient first, confirm where they are, then serve them lawfully and swear the affidavit.

Skip Tracing First

When an address is stale or the recipient is evading, we locate them through lawful database and field enquiry — then serve.

Personal Service

Identity confirmed, documents handed over in person. If the recipient refuses to take them, feet service is effected under NZ court rules.

Why it matters

Get it right first time.

Sworn Affidavit of Service

Every serve includes a sworn affidavit — the legal proof that documents were served correctly. Without it, court proceedings can be delayed or dismissed.

Identity Confirmed

We confirm the recipient's identity before serving. If they refuse, NZ court rules allow feet service — and we document everything.

Substituted Service

If personal service fails after reasonable attempts, we prepare the full file for a substituted service application — via family member, email, or social media.

Licensed Process Servers

Common questions

Process serving in NZ — answered.

What is a process server in NZ?

A process server is a licensed person who personally delivers legal documents — court summonses, statements of claim, statutory demands, trespass orders and relationship-property notices — to a named recipient, then swears an affidavit of service that can be filed with the court. In New Zealand, process serving falls under the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010.

Can you serve dissolution of marriage papers?

Yes. We personally serve dissolution of marriage (divorce) applications anywhere in New Zealand, confirm identity, and swear an affidavit of service that can be filed with the Family Court. If the other party has moved or is avoiding service, we locate them first.

How fast can you serve documents?

Same-day urgent service is available in the main centres at an additional cost. Standard instructions are issued to a serving agent within 24 hours, with most serves completed within 24–72 hours depending on location.

What if the recipient refuses or evades service?

Under NZ court rules, refused service can still be lawfully effected by “feet service” — leaving the documents at the recipient’s feet once identity is confirmed. For evasion, we apply for substituted service or use skip tracing to locate the recipient first.

How much does process serving cost?

Standard personal service starts from $150 + GST. The final fee depends on the recipient’s location, urgency, the number of attempts required, and whether we need to locate them first. We quote a fixed fee before we act — send the documents and recipient details for a confirmed price within one hour.
